Our cutting-edge robots rely on advanced mechatronic systems—integrating precision actuators, high-performance motor controllers, multi-axis force/torque sensors, high-density PCBAs, cable harnesses, structural limbs, and dynamic end effectors—to execute complex tasks in demanding environments.

We are seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer with 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronics and electromechanical systems to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this hybrid role, you will be the core technical owner for the reliability of integrated humanoid drive systems and robotic actuation sub-assemblies. You will partner directly with mechatronics design, controls, embedded software, and manufacturing teams to drive reliability validation, lead multi-physics failure analyses, and build robust lifetime models for highly dynamic robotic hardware.

About the Work

Mechatronic Reliability Planning & DfR Integration

  • Implement Design for Reliability (DfR) methodologies (DFMEA, FTA, component derating) across complex mechatronic loops, including drive trains, harmonic gearboxes, BLDC motors, encoder feedback systems, and dynamic wire harnesses.

  • Proficiency with data-analysis and scripting environments used for engineering analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use new reliability and engineering software tools as needed.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to connect observed failures and test results to underlying physical failure mechanisms.
  • Ability to independently develop reliability analyses and validation approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate reliability risk, uncertainty, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective collaboration across mechanical, electrical, systems, test, manufacturing, quality, and supplier organizations.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving product-development environment where designs and requirements continue to mature.

Engineer Senior Software Engineer, Cobalt at Tubi

Builds and optimizes Tubi’s Cobalt-based connected-TV runtime using C++, Rust, native platform integrations, and performance engineering.

Senior Hybrid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the Role:

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build Tubi’s native app runtime for connected TVs on Cobalt, the lightweight, open-source browser engine behind YouTube on living room devices. You will own the layer between Tubi’s React app and the device: the Cobalt engine, its Starboard porting layer, and new native components we write in C++ and Rust.

The goal is a Tubi app that launches faster, uses less memory, and behaves the same on every device, starting with Fire TV and expanding to other CTV platforms. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role on a small team, working closely with our web engineers, QA, and device partners.

This is a hybrid role which is two days in the SF office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, integrate, and ship Cobalt as the runtime for Tubi’s CTV apps, packaged as a native library inside our Android (Fire TV) app and later on other platforms
  • Implement and maintain Starboard platform integrations: graphics, input, audio/video playback, DRM, and system services
  • Write new native modules in modern C++ and Rust, including safe FFI boundaries between the two
  • Drive startup and memory performance on low-end, memory-constrained devices (1 GB RAM class): profile, measure, and fix
  • Keep us current with upstream Cobalt releases, track and contribute fixes upstream, and manage security patches for the engine we ship
  • Work with media and playback teams on video pipeline needs such as demuxing, adaptive streaming, and ad playback
  • Build tooling that runs the Tubi app on Cobalt on developer machines and in CI, so we can test UI and automation without a device farm
  • Work directly with device partners’ engineering teams on platform issues
  • Mentor engineers and raise the team’s native and systems engineering bar

Your Background:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering, most of it in systems or native code
  • Expert-level modern C++ (C++17⁄20): memory management, concurrency, templates, and debugging large codebases
  • Strong production experience in Rust: ownership and lifetimes, async, unsafe code, and C/C++ interop (FFI, bindgen/cxx)
  • Experience with large C++ build systems (GN/Ninja, CMake, or Bazel) and cross-compiling for ARM and embedded Linux or Android targets
  • Hands-on performance work: profiling CPU, memory, and startup time with tools like perf, Perfetto, or heaptrack, and turning findings into measurable wins
  • Comfort debugging on real hardware: Android NDK, adb, native crash analysis, and symbolication
  • Clear written communication and a track record of leading technical initiatives across teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Cobalt, Starboard, Chromium, or another browser engine (Blink, WebKit, Servo)
  • JavaScript engine internals, especially V8: code caching, snapshots, or GC tuning
  • Graphics on embedded devices: OpenGL ES, Skia, or WebGPU
  • Media pipelines: MSE/EME, ExoPlayer or native players, demuxers, Widevine or PlayReady DRM
  • Shipping on TV platforms such as Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, or Roku
  • Open-source contributions to C++ or Rust projects
  • Enough React and TypeScript to work with the web app running on top of the engine

Engineer Senior Software Engineer, KPI & Cryptographic Systems at Cloudflare

Designs and builds scalable PKI, certificate lifecycle, cryptographic infrastructure, and private-key systems for Cloudflare's global network.

Senior Hybrid Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available Locations: Austin, London, or Lisbon (Hybrid)

About the role

TLS is the connective tissue of the Internet, and Cloudflare terminates a large fraction of it. Every day our network handles tens of millions of certificate operations across products like Universal SSL, SSL for SaaS, Origin CA, Cloudflare Access, and Cloudflare Tunnel — and the WebPKI ecosystem underneath all of it is undergoing its largest structural change in a generation: shorter certificate lifetimes, a shift toward post-quantum-safe signature algorithms, and new automation and trust-establishment mechanisms on the horizon.

We are investing in the next generation of Cloudflare’s PKI and cryptographic infrastructure to keep up with, and stay ahead of, that shift. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will design and build the systems that manage certificate lifecycles, protect and use private keys at scale, integrate with hardware security modules, automate issuance and renewal, and take Cloudflare’s cryptographic stack into the post-quantum era. You will work at the intersection of applied cryptography, distributed systems, and security engineering — on infrastructure that a large fraction of the Internet quietly depends on.

This is an early-days role on a growing team. The design decisions you make in the first year will shape how Cloudflare’s certificate and key infrastructure operates for years to come.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core PKI systems — certificate lifecycle management, X.509 issuance and validation logic, key parameter enforcement, and policy engines aligned with industry standards including CA/Browser Forum guidance and browser root program policies.
  • Own the cryptographic core. Integrate with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 (and, where required, Level 4) HSMs via PKCS#11 and vendor-native SDKs; build key ceremony and key-lifecycle tooling; enforce strict key-usage boundaries in code.
  • Automate at scale. Build and evolve ACME-based issuance and renewal pipelines, short-lived certificate rotation, and revocation mechanisms that serve at Cloudflare’s global scale.
  • Instrument transparency and audit trails. Integrate with Certificate Transparency, build append-only tamper-evident logging, and design evidence pipelines that hold up to rigorous third-party audit.
  • Maintain accreditation and respond to a changing compliance landscape. PKI operations must maintain compliance under CA/B Forum, WebTrust, and root store program frameworks. You will be aware of, and adapt to, changes in relevant policies, participate in public incident disclosure and discourse, and participate in regular third-party audits.
  • Represent Cloudflare in the WebPKI community. Write public CA incident reports and serve as a primary contact with the WebPKI community; clear technical writing is core to this role.
  • Ship the post-quantum future. Contribute to Cloudflare’s ongoing post-quantum migration — including work on post-quantum encryption and authentication — so that Cloudflare’s cryptographic infrastructure stays ahead of the transition.
  • Own code end-to-end from design through production incident response. Cryptographic infrastructure cannot silently fail; you will build the observability, runbooks, and on-call posture that keep the service inside SLO.
  • Partner across the org — with the SSL/TLS product teams, the HSM and data-centre infrastructure teams, the Cloudflare Research applied cryptography group, and adjacent product teams that consume PKI as a platform.
  • Raise the bar. Mentor other engineers joining an early-stage team, run design reviews, and establish the engineering standards, threat models, and secure-development practices this team will operate under for years.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years of production systems software experience, with a strong operational track record — you have carried a pager for something people depend on.
  • Deep working knowledge of applied cryptography and PKI. X.509, ASN.1/DER, RFC 5280, CRL distribution, Certificate Transparency, ACME, and the CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements. You do not need to be a cryptographer, but you need to reason precisely about certificate profiles, key parameters, and issuance policy.
  • Familiarity with HSMs. PKCS#11 integration, key ceremonies, key-attestation flows, and understanding of what FIPS 140-2⁄3 validation actually means in production.
  • Strong systems programming background in at least one of Go, Rust, or C/C++.
  • Distributed systems fluency — you have built or operated globally replicated, availability-critical services with strict correctness guarantees.
  • Experience designing and operating database schemas for high-integrity systems (Postgres or equivalent).
  • Security-hardened system design instincts — threat modelling, defence in depth, least privilege, and secure key handling.
  • Comfort with high-consequence work. A mis-issued or mis-revoked certificate is a public, industry-visible event. You need the temperament to move quickly and the discipline to be careful.

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience working on or with a publicly-trusted or private CA, or a large-scale internal PKI (Let’s Encrypt / Boulder, Google Trust Services, DigiCert, Sectigo, ISRG, Entrust, Microsoft PKI, HashiCorp Vault PKI, step-ca, CFSSL, or an internal CA at scale).
  • Experience with crypto/x509, BoringSSL, OpenSSL/AWS-LC, CFSSL, or an equivalent PKI codebase.
  • Experience with WebTrust for CAs / WebTrust BR / WebTrust Network Security audit engagements.
  • Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography — ML-DSA, ML-KEM, hybrid signature schemes, and the current state of PQ signature standardisation.
  • Familiarity with emerging browser trust-establishment proposals (e.g. Merkle Tree Certificates).
  • Prior participation in the CA/Browser Forum, IETF LAMPS / TLS / PLANTS / PQUIP working groups, the transparency.dev community, or a browser root program review.
  • Experience running or automating offline key ceremonies.
  • Experience operating Certificate Transparency log infrastructure or CT monitoring at scale.
  • Familiarity with formal methods, differential fuzzing, or property-based testing for cryptographic protocol code.
  • Kubernetes experience.

Compensation

  • For Portugal based hires: Estimated annual salary is between €66,000 - €83,000.

Equity

  • This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we’ve equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers–at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we’ve provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Engineer Senior Software Engineer (Forward Deployed) at Invisible Technologies

Build and deploy AI-powered workflows and scalable software solutions for clients while translating operational problems into technical systems.

Senior Hybrid Posted 8 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Invisible

Invisible Technologies makes AI work. Our end-to-end AI platform structures messy data, automates digital workflows, deploys agentic solutions, measures outcomes, and integrates human expertise where it matters most.

Our platform cleans, labels, and structures company data so it is ready for AI. It adapts models to each business and adds human expertise when needed, the same approach we have used to improve models for more than 80% of the world’s top AI companies, including Microsoft, AWS, and Cohere.

Our successes span industries, from supply chain automation for Swiss Gear to AI-enabled naval simulations with SAIC, and validating NBA draft picks for the Charlotte Hornets.

Profitable for more than half a decade, Invisible reached $134M in revenue and ranked as the number two fastest growing AI company on the 2024 Inc. 5000. In September 2025, we raised $100M in growth capital to accelerate our mission of making AI actually work in the enterprise and to advance our platform technology.

About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) you’ll work directly with clients and our internal delivery teams to build and deploy AI-powered solutions that transform how work gets done.  You’ll own projects end-to-end: scoping ambiguous problems, prototyping AI workflows, and deploying scalable systems on top of our products — all while interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role: equal parts AI engineer, software builder, and technical consultant. It’s perfect for someone who wants to be hands-on with models and close to the impact they generate.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with delivery leaders to scope technical solutions to operational problems
  • Identify workflow optimizations through deep engagement with customer problems and work to build into a stable and scalable solution
  • Design and implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, embedding models, retrieval systems, and automation tools
  • Translate messy real-world constraints (e.g., inconsistent data, latency requirements) into elegant engineering solutions
  • Iterate quickly based on real-time feedback from operators and clients
  • Build reusable tooling and infrastructure that accelerates future deployments

What We Need

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time spent building data, ML, or backend systems
  • Python & ML/LLM Frameworks: Deep proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI, Pinecone, and related ecosystems
  • Deployment & Infrastructure: Skilled in full-stack and API-based deployment patterns, including Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
  • Platform Orchestration: Experienced with workflow orchestration libraries, pub/sub systems (Kafka), and schema governance
  • Data Management: Expertise in data governance and operations, including Unity Catalog and policy management, cluster/job orchestration, data contracts and quality enforcement, Delta/ETL pipelines, and replay processes
  • Strong product and system design instincts — you understand business needs and how to translate them into technical architecture
  • Experience building usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills; you’ve led conversations with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
  • Proven experience owning projects from scoping through deployment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
  • Be willing to be on-call for our customers when situations arise
  • Travel: Willingness to travel for on-site client engagements as needed
  • Onsite: Available to work from the office a few days per week, depending on team needs

What’s In It For You

Invisible is committed to fair and competitive pay, ensuring that compensation reflects both market conditions and the value each team member brings.  Our salary structure accounts for regional differences in cost of living while maintaining internal equity.

The annual salary range for this position, depending on level, is: ÂŁ110,000 - ÂŁ162,000 GBP

You can find more information about our geographic pay tiers here. During the interview process, your Invisible Talent Acquisition Partner will confirm which tier applies to your location. For candidates outside the U.S., compensation is adjusted to reflect local market conditions and cost of living.

*Bonuses and equity are included in all full-time offers. Final compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including location, job-related experience, skills, knowledge, internal pay equity, and overall market conditions. Because of this, every offer is unique. Additional details on total compensation and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.

Engineer Building Intelligence Engineer - DMV at Parity

Assesses buildings, models HVAC energy savings, and manages installation and optimization of automated building-control systems.

Mid Hybrid Posted 8 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

ABOUT PARITY:

Buildings in our beautiful cities, where we live and work, are producing 40% of the CO2 going into our atmosphere and contributing to climate change. We need to HEAT, VENTILATE, and AIR CONDITION our buildings 24⁄7. Most of the energy consumed in a building is for our comfort, but 50% of it is wasted! This is because buildings have little to no technology to control this.

Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its residents’ demands and adapt the building’s systems and machinery in real time. We save our customers:

  1. Time - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.
  2. Money - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also provide quarterly and annual energy savings reports.
  3. CO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Building Intelligence Engineer based in the greater Washington DC area to join our team and help us ensure that all of our client’s buildings are adapted to work successfully with Parity.

Leveraging your background in Engineering and knowledge of HVAC automation/control systems, you will partner with our Sales & Operations teams to ensure that all buildings in our portfolio are quoted, set up, and optimized throughout their time with us. We are looking for someone hungry, eager to learn, and passionate about the energy and ClimateTech space!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct on-site assessments of our client’s buildings to prepare initial estimated savings, integration costs, and savings for Parity’s service
  • Use Parity’s modeling tools to complete an energy analysis of our potential client’s buildings based on the on-site assessments, historical utility data, mechanical equipment specs, available building drawings, and current control sequences to estimate the energy savings potential
  • Manage the installation and set-up phase of Parity’s service from start to finish to ensure projects are completed on schedule and budget while keeping clients updated on progress throughout the length of each project
  • Establishing communication between Parity’s software platform and field controllers/devices in our client’s buildings, along with establishing and testing control sequence(s) with support from Parity’s programming team to reduce energy waste
  • Complete final commissioning and sign off of systems to ensure that Parity, Client, and incentive program requirements are met
  • Manage incentive application and procurement process on behalf of Parity
  • Interview building staff to understand existing control protocols and challenges
  • Support the sales team by providing them with market details, contacts, and help them develop proposals
  • Support Party’s service delivery team as a local technical resource as needed for buildings that are live in the Parity system
  • Work with our Operations team to provide support to our customers during and after installation
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the local incentive landscape including determining eligible incentives and relevant requirements for Parity service
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local electrical, mechanical, and controls contractors
  • Manage procurement of necessary hardware and installation services pricing from contractors
  • Help to optimize existing systems and processes to best serve the Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia market
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Washington DC’s and Maryland’s Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) and other relevant local policies, regulations, and trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or higher), ideally with a focus or demonstrated interest in HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering
  • 2-5 years experience working in at least one of the following areas:
    • Energy auditing, and/or energy services
    • MEP Engineering
    • Controls/Building Automation
  • Familiarity working with energy incentive programs
  • Ability to travel to client sites within the greater Washington DC area
  • You are eager to grow, learn, and tackle new opportunities in a fast-growing startup environment
  • You are a quick learner who only needs to be shown something once before doing it yourself, and then going back to improve the process
  • You constantly seek efficiency and optimization of processes and procedures; you look for gaps and work to fill them
  • Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following additional qualifications:
    • Experience working with MEP drawings, including controls drawings
    • Experience managing installation/retrofit projects
    • Experience working with building automation systems
    • Experience with Niagara Tridium products and applications

WHY JOIN US?

Join Parity during a period of tremendous growth in a key role that directly contributes to our future success. You will contribute to a world-changing service that is working to make the world a better place through reduced CO2 emissions in multifamily buildings and hotels. Engineer Senior Software Engineer (Forward Deployed) at Invisible Technologies

Build and deploy AI-powered software solutions, workflows, and infrastructure while partnering directly with clients and delivery teams.
